Image
Street Freak Special ! This 1970 Corvette has such an outrageous custom paint job that it will blind you. The car is a time capsule bringing you back to 1975 when disco was popular, it also was a time when horsepower wasn't enough to win at shows so the people mixed street machine power with lowrider good looks. The interior is filled with a roll bar, metallic vinyl interior accents and wood trim, finishing off the 70's vibe it rolls on classic wire wheels.     The engine is a small-block Chevy 400, with a Dyers 6V-71supercharger. It has a pump gas friendly 8.5:1 CR., The supercharger is feed by two boost-referenced Holley 650 CFM  carbs.   This wild 1973 Mustang Mach 1 was given the full Pro-Street treatment back in the early 1990's, and was built by the Rod Shop in Erie, P.A. The current owner is from Nanuet,New York and owns some other significant Pro-Street cars as well. The hood now opens in reverse like a Corvette .  And poking through the hood is a custom made air box fed by two ram tubes fitted with high-flow air filters. The owner stated that he is going to give the hood the factory black out treatment to match the other Mach 1 graphics. Under the hood we find the huge by large big-block Ford that has been stroked to almost 600 cubic inches . The transmission is a H.D. Ford C6 automatic with a high stall converter. John Uzbasic's 1937 Chevy Coupe

Image
John Uzbasic was raised in Northern Wisconsin , then in 1979 he moved to Hawaii,  where he worked multiple jobs just to afford to live there. Even back in 1979 it was expensive.  So basically all he did was work with really no outside life.   John said that some years passed when he met two individuals that ended up to be good friends,  Roy and his wife Edie.  They were friends for some time and it was a surprise that after a number of months he shown John his race car.  At that time, he didn’t give it much thought because he wasn't really interested in racing at that time in his life.    Fast forward about 2-3 years,  Roy asked him a number of times to  check him out Drag Racing, John finally agreed to meet him at the track.  He said he got to the track early and jumped on the bleachers and waited for the event to start.                       He waited and waited as cars came in but no one going down the track.   His anticipation was starting to build and finally, it started .

After battling cooling issues he decided it was time to go to a fully TIG welded tube chassis and take the car even further.   He stepped it up with a 514 cubes, The bigger power started breaking the C6 so Keith went to a Powerglide transmission.  Fast forward to today,  Keith is now running an A460 block that’s 598 cubes , with SCJ heads that have been ported & larger valves were installed .  A Trick Flow intake and a Pro Systems 1250cfm Methanol carburetor finishes off the top end . The Powerglide is long gone, and now a turbo 400 handles the shifting duty's and a Hughes 5,500 stall converter keeps the engine in it's sweet spot . All  the power goes to a  Strange 9” re
