Rene Gagner's engine design

Image
The Billet 5 Valve W8 HEMI Engine Designed by Rene Gagner   Rene Gagner is from Canada and s aid that he has been a true drag racer his whole life, this is what he has been working on in his spare time.   It's a CNC billet 1,002 CID W8 fuel motor, designed with a DOHC 5-valve HEMI configuration. It features a 10.250'' deck, a big bore & short stroke. The heads have a potential to flow over 1000 CFM.  Rene stated that the real obstacle is to make it as compact as he can, so it can fit in most drag car chassis. For power, he has already made 3.05 HP per-cubic-inch on th e dyno, with a much smaller engine spinning at 12000 + rpm. The new CNC Billet 5-valve W8 HEMI race engine design is aimed at the 960 cubic-inch displacement rule limit, but it's 1000 C.I.D capable. Intended for the latest Outlaw Street and Pro-Mod drag racing leagues.  By using an extra large bore and short deck, along with new modern materials h...

A/N Fittings -Plumbing We Will Go !

Image
Most likely, at one time in your life you have seen a killer custom car or race car that has had fittings like these and wondered , how do they work ? And where are the clamps to how can I use them on my car ?   Lets start with how these fittings came about. A/N fittings  were originally designed for use in aerospace and  military applications. The size & specifications were established by the military back in World War II, and stems from a joint standard agreed upon by the Army and Navy, hence AN. The Army-Navy involvement is also the origin of the red/blue color combination that was traditionally used in the anodized finishing process. AN sizes range from -2 (dash two) to -32 in irregular steps, with each step equating to the OD (outside diameter) of the tubing in 1 ⁄ 16 -inch increments.  Therefore, a -8 AN size would be equal to 1 ⁄ 2 -inch OD tube. However, this system does not specify the ID (inside diameter) of the tubing because the tube wall ...

Within 4 years, it changed to a full time operation with 10 employees.  In 1982 after years of doing job shop components for many large companies they decided to start making their own products and that is when F-K Bearings was started.  At that time they were operating both F.F. Screw Products and F.K. bearings in two separate buildings that were approximately 36,000 square feet combined. In 1999 they formed Fragola Performance Systems after many of their customers kept inquiring why they didn’t manufacture fittings for the racing industry. They are now housed in a 80,000 square foot building with 35 employees .Their sister company F.K. Bearings is across the street from them with their own 80,000 square foot building with 55 employees.
