Scott Robinson's "Bionic Wasp" 68' Camaro

  Scott Robinson is from southern California and has been into cars his whole life, his earliest memories recount his time spent with his father and his friends. Scott's father raced all types of vehicles, drag boats, sand rails, and cars. These experiences made a major impression on Scott and he couldn't wait to be old enough to drive. When he was old enough, he got heavy into off-road motorcycles then when he got his driver's license all bets were off.  Scott forgot about racing motorcycles and went all in and started racing cars. The first car he raced wasn't car at all, it was a 1975 Chevy van. But this wasn't  any old worn out work van. This van belonged to Scott's father, it featured  a destroked 400 cube small-block built by Scott's Dad, it's backed up with a TH-400 automatic transmission and a narrowed 12-bolt rear end. Scott said it was fun ride for his first car, and when he graduated high-school his father gave it to him.   The father and son

Nova Pro/Street

  This 1972 Nova received the full Pro-Street treatment and looks fast sitting in a parking lot. There isn't a hood that can contain the Scott Shafiroff built 540 cubic-inch monster that sits between the frame rails.  The engine features Dart Pro-1 heads, and a Blower Shop 8-71 supercharger with a Hilborn electronic fuel injection system that’s topped off with an Enderle hat.    The chassis was upgraded with a Chris Alston front clip and subframe connectors to keep the body from twisting. The horsepower flows through a Mike's Transmission TH400 transmission that’s outfitted with a reverse manual valve body, transbrake, billet shafts, and a 10-inch converter.  All of this mayhem hits the pavement with ease thanks to a Ford 9-inch rear-end that’s filled with a Currie 3rd member and 35-spline axles. The rear end is mounted to the chassis with a 4-link suspension, and QA1 coil-over shocks.  The interior of the Nova is very comfortable thanks to a pair of recovered Fiero bucket seat

Bill Rowe’s supercharged 1964 Polara

         At Holley’s 2021 MoParty… Bill Rowe’s 1964 Dodge Polara 500 seemed like a nice restored classic… Until you see the supercharged 392 C.I. HEMI poking through the hood          You see Bill tends to lean towards much earlier iron, like his stunning 1934 Plymouth that was parked nearby, also HEMI powered. A group of Bill’s friends kept nagging him to build a 60’s or 70’s Muscle Car like a Charger or Challenger. But when Bill laid his eyes on this Polara, he knew he found his next build. He fell in love with the rounded fenders and unique front end that made it stand out in a sea of typical muscle cars.     Under the long hood, Bill started out with a Gen-1 392 Chrysler HEMI, the bottom end was built to handle boost from the polished 8-71 BDS supercharger. It’s mounted on a Hot Heads intake manifold. The fuel is mixed by a pair of Quick Fuel carburetors topped off with a BDS air scoop. Backing up the HEMI is a heavy-duty 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission,while an 8 ¾ rear end

1988 Pro/Street Beretta

    Back in the 1980's the Pro/Street trend was running hot across America and by the 1990's it was across the whole world. No car was off limits and people dared to be different. The builds were over the top, the cars had eye popping paint and mile-high air-induction systems. It wasn't about how much horsepower you had under the hood or sticking out, it was about who could outdo the next guy at the car show.   Other build styles were still going on at the time like traditional hot rod building and simple street machines were still prowling the streets. But Pro/Street was its own special thing and it still is but with a modern twist.  All the major car magazines featured Pro/Street builds from cover to cover and all the readers drooled over them. I know I did and dreamed to own one day. Car Craft, Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding & Super Chevy magazine were the go to publications each month to get your horsepower fix ! *Quick Look* 72' Duster Pro/Street

  Quick Look  The owner of this 72’ model took this Duster to the outer limits and beyond. The Duster is show and go with perfect panel gaps and a custom pearl white paint job with airbrushed graphics.  The engine compartment is bursting with horsepower and eye appeal with a stroker small-block now stretched to 408 cubes, it was built by Big Al's Toy Box in Connecticut. It sucks in the atmosphere through an 8/71 Blower Shop billet supercharger with dual QuickFuel 650 CFM carburetors topped off with a polished Enderle injector hat. The internals are filled with the best parts and pieces like an Eagle crank, H-beam rods, forged pistons and ARP fasteners keep it screwed together. The engine is making 14 pounds of boost making close to 900 Horsepower, so a heavy-duty 727 TorqueFlite transmission with a PTC 3,500 RPM stall converter sits downstream. The narrowed Chrysler 8 ¾ rear end was filled with Moser 35-spline axles and Richmond 4.56 gears that can take the abuse with ease.   The

68' Coronet Police Special !

    Quick Look !       This by far has to be the most unique police car of all time! What started out as a 1968 Dodge Coronet police interceptor is now a crazy over the top hot rod. This was a real Canadian police car, having its original working radio, sirens and lights still intact. The Coronet originally had a 440 hp motor and 727 trans but it was removed and a 2018 Challenger Hellcat motor with approximately 3,000 miles was installed.   A custom-built Gear Star GM4L85E transmission was installed behind the Hellcat engine. Other features include an Alterkation front suspension with Wilwood disk- brakes, Dana 60 rear-end with 4:11:1 gears and new brakes. Under hood updates include a custom made aluminum radiator with electric fans, new intercooler, and custom-made ram air intake system.   T he exhaust system is designed to breathe, starting with TTI headers that blend into a three-inch exhaust with remote-controlled cutouts for the zoomies. 1963 Dodge Dart GT AWB

  When Dodge introduced the Dodge Dart it was considered a compact car, it was built on the new smaller A-Body platform. The base engine was the inline 225 slant-6 with a tiny one barrel carburetor. The engine was weak in the horsepower department but the body had some cool crisp lines that were unique to the Dart .                                    The Dart rolls on super cool American Racing Torque Thrust D wheels, Coker Pro-Trac tires. The owner of this black beauty took this 1963 Dodge Dart to the next level. Starting with the wheelbase. The rear axle was moved up giving it the look of a 60’s Gasser, the straight front axle was moved forward five inches.   The Dart started out as a rust free California body, the black paint is so deep it looks like a mirror. The interior is a stunning bright red featuring A-100 van bucket seats up front and smooth rear panel where the rear seat once was. Taylor Vetter - The Fastest Woman in a Blown Top Alcohol Dragster !

  Welcome to another installment of Women in Drag Racing. This week we had a chance to get to know Taylor Vetter. She comes from a family that has Drag Racing in their DNA. By day Taylor works for the city of North Las Vegas as an assistant to the city Director , on the weekends she races in different classes of the NHRA. She races in Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Dragster, and the Super Comp classes.  Currently she is the only Woman racing a blown alcohol Dragster and the only woman to go over 280 MPH, which makes her the fastest female  in a Blown Alcohol Dragster class. Taylor started racing JR. Dragsters when she was only eight years old and transitioned into a full scale car when she was just twenty. At that time she started bracket racing and started to race in Super Comp, then she moved up to Top Dragster for a couple of seasons. Taylor set her goals high and she achieved them, she licensed in Top Alcohol in 2020 and she's now competing in a Blown (supercharged) Top Alcohol

Rick Dobbertin's 1965 Nova

  This 65' Nova is one of the most significant Pro/Street builds of all time. Since the time it was built in 1982 by Rick Dobbertin it won so many awards it literally put the worlds car builders on notice.  Rick devoted more than 3,000 hours over the course of three years to create this legendary Nova. The Nova was featured on the cover of the September 1982 issue of Hot Rod magazine and a full feature inside as well, it won the Grand Champion award at the 1982 Car Craft Nationals as well as Best Pro Street, Best Engineered and Best Engine awards. The main reason for those awards happens to lie beneath the hood, a 454 big block Chevy that was shoehorned into the little compact. Most builders would have called it a day at that time, but not Rick.  He installed a BDS 6-71 Supercharger that is feed boost via a pair of Rotomaster turbochargers that inhale the fuel mixture from a pair of Holley 750 CFM carburetors.
