1970 Corvette Street Machine

                 Street Freak Special ! This 1970 Corvette has such an outrageous custom paint job that it will blind you. The car is a time capsule bringing you back to 1975 when disco was popular, it also was a time when horsepower wasn't enough to win at shows so the people mixed street machine power with lowrider good looks. The Vette features a full custom interior, supercharged small block engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. The interior is filled with a roll bar, metallic vinyl interior accents and wood trim, finishing off the 70's vibe it rolls on classic wire wheels.     The engine is a small-block Chevy 400, with a Dyers 6V-71supercharger. It has a pump gas friendly 8.5:1 CR., The supercharger is feed by two boost-referenced Holley 650 CFM  carbs. Ignition is handled by a MSD products.  The small-block is backed up by a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. The fumes exit in style with chrome 4-into one side pipes that make this 71' Corvette rumble. Power

Roger Tausch’s, 1972 Pro-Street *Maverick *

                                                                                         I came across this, radical for its time 1972 Ford Maverick, and I wanted to share it with my readers.     When Roger Tausch's blown 1972 Ford Maverick rumbled through the Indiana State Fairgrounds over 35 years ago during the Street Machine Nationals, it caused tons of excitement among fellow Street Machine enthusiasts !   You see most blower cars at the time were Chevy's and very few were Ford's or even Ford powered. Roger's car appeared in the Nov. 1980 issue of Car Craft , It was a fantastic debut for Roger and his  Supercharged 302 powered Maverick. It would go on to grace the pages of several other magazines in the following few years.  It is virtually unchanged from its appearance when it was last seen over 35 years ago, apart from a narrowed rear end and the change from carbs to fuel injection. Keith Rizner's 1970 Mustang

           Keith is from Peyton, Colorado and this is his 1970 Mustang . He states it's a home built race car that started life as a plain Jane stock 302 , with a C4 transmission.  He built the Mustang in his two stall garage.  He first back halved it and installed a 429 with a C6 transmission . After battling cooling issues he decided it was time to go to a fully TIG welded tube chassis and take the car even further.   He stepped it up with a 514 cubes, The bigger power started breaking the C6 so Keith went to a Powerglide transmission.  Fast forward to today,  Keith is now running an A460 block that’s 598 cubes , with SCJ heads that have been ported & larger valves were installed .  A Trick Flow intake and a Pro Systems 1250cfm Methanol carburetor finishes off the top end . The Powerglide is long gone, and now a turbo 400 handles the shifting duty's and a Hughes 5,500 stall converter keeps the engine in it's sweet spot . All  the power goes to a  Strange 9” re

Butch Hill's 1939 Ford Coupe

      Like most gear heads in his age group, Butch Hill notes that while growing up, he took a particular liking to hot rods as a result of the influence from his father, Don.  He was known as the Hill-Boys Race Team in the dirt/asphalt racing circuit.    Although his involvement with hot rods came from his father. His mother, Marilyn, was one of his biggest fans and supporters. Butch made frequent trips to the drag strips to check out what was running. The “look and power” of those cars was something that intrigued him.  Needless to say, he was always on the hunt for cool hot rods.    In 1978 Butch was driving  through a local neighborhood and noticed a 1939 Ford Coupe in a driveway. He decided to stop and ask if the car was for sale. The owner answered the door and agreed to sell it to him.  After a quick look-over, the deal was done .     He dove into his new purchase with a tune up on the 396 big block Chevy motor with a 4-speed transmission and a Pontiac rear-end.
