1970 Corvette Street Machine

                 Street Freak Special ! This 1970 Corvette has such an outrageous custom paint job that it will blind you. The car is a time capsule bringing you back to 1975 when disco was popular, it also was a time when horsepower wasn't enough to win at shows so the people mixed street machine power with lowrider good looks. The Vette features a full custom interior, supercharged small block engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. The interior is filled with a roll bar, metallic vinyl interior accents and wood trim, finishing off the 70's vibe it rolls on classic wire wheels.     The engine is a small-block Chevy 400, with a Dyers 6V-71supercharger. It has a pump gas friendly 8.5:1 CR., The supercharger is feed by two boost-referenced Holley 650 CFM  carbs. Ignition is handled by a MSD products.  The small-block is backed up by a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. 1971 S&M- Barracuda

  Rare Rides Quick Look !   This month's quick look is a 1 of 1 1971 HEMI Plymouth Barracuda convertible that was prepped by the legendary race shop of Ronnie Sox & Buddy Martin.  This a true Sox and Martin built Cuda'. The car was purchased new in Detroit and driven to Sox and Martin for preparation to run the NHRA Super Stock Class.    The Cud'a competed in 1973-1974 NHRA events, and was driven by "Mr. 4 -Speed" himself, Herb McCandless.  It's powered by a balanced and blueprinted 426 C.I. Hemi. Built by Sox and Martin, shifted by an A-833 4-speed the Hemi's torque is sent to a Dana-60 rear end filled with 4.56:1 gears and a spool. There is full documentation on the car and it was the only known convertible built by S&M. As it sits there is 33,307 miles on the clock and you will never find another example like this on the planet .

1984 Monte Carlo SS -Pro/Street

        This Monte Carlo is one bad G-body . It’s powered by a freshly built 468 big- block Chevy that features a Weiand 8-71 supercharger making an est. 650 H.P.    Up top dual Fitech electronic throttle body’s inject the fuel. The top-end features aluminum Merlin heads and  hydraulic roller cam bumps the valves.       A huge Be-Cool radiator with dual electric fans keeps things cool .  The exhaust is routed through a set of ceramic coated headers and a mandrel bent 3-inch stainless steel tubes ending at the rear bumper . The engine is backed by a built 4L80e automatic transmission that is controlled and adjusted with a hand-held controller.     The interior features original factory-style blue velour bucket seats. A/N Fittings -Plumbing We Will Go !

  Most likely, at one time in your life you have seen a killer custom car or race car that has had fittings like these and wondered , how do they work ? And where are the clamps to how can I use them on my car ?   Lets start with how these fittings came about. A/N fittings  were originally designed for use in aerospace and  military applications. The size & specifications were established by the military back in World War II, and stems from a joint standard agreed upon by the Army and Navy, hence AN. The Army-Navy involvement is also the origin of the red/blue color combination that was traditionally used in the anodized finishing process. AN sizes range from -2 (dash two) to -32 in irregular steps, with each step equating to the OD (outside diameter) of the tubing in 1 ⁄ 16 -inch increments.  Therefore, a -8 AN size would be equal to 1 ⁄ 2 -inch OD tube. However, this system does not specify the ID (inside diameter) of the tubing because the tube wall can vary in thickness. E

Pro/Street 66' Chevy II Wagon

  This 1966 Chevrolet Nova Pro-Street Wagon is amazing! The car was completely customized,as it started off as a 4-door that was professionally transformed into a 2-door. The wagon was tubbed to fit giant meats in the rear, then a roll cage was added to keep the body from twisting. The award winning paint is a two-toned metallic blue and silver with green and orange painted on pinstripes. Powering this Chevy II is a 372 C.I. small block V8 with an 8/71 supercharger from The Blower Shop,and sucking fuel from a pair of Holley Carburetors.      The exhaust flows through Doug's long tube headers and 3-inch pipes that exit before the rear tires.  The power is sent to a TCI Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission ending at a Dana 60 rear end filled with 3:73 gears. 1959 Ford Thames Panel Van

  The Ford Thames 300E is a car derived van that was produced by Ford U.K. from 1954 to 1961. The Thames, (or Thames Trader), name was given to all available sizes of commercial vehicles produced by Ford in Britain from the 1950s through to 1965. In 1965 the Thames and Trader names were discontinued.   This little Van is a potent Hot Rod ! Under the forward opening hood is a  large 350ci Chevrolet V8. Well it's large for a Thames.  Since they only came little 4 cylinders.   All the accessories have been polished or chrome plated . And a 650 Holley 4-barrel carb. feeds the small block that sits on an aluminum Edelbrock Performer manifold.  A big aluminum radiator & electric fan keep it cool. Backing up the V-8 is a floor shifted TH350 3-speed automatic transmission with a high-stall converter and it's equipped with a shift kit , giving it firm shifts .                                                                                                                       

1960 Ford Falcon ,Pro-Street

  This Ford Falcon is powered by the 4-decade built 302 cubic- inch small block . This engine has powered everything from Grandma's station wagon to Crown Victoria Police cars & F150 trucks. And it's painted a slick Candy Brandy-wine with a deep clear coat. It's equipped with a BDS 6/71 supercharger with dual 650 CFM Holley four barrel carburetors .  There are miles of  braided lines with AN fittings, a Milodon deep sump oil pan keeps the bottom end lubricated . The cooling system was upgraded with a Griffin aluminum radiator with a separate trans cooler, and electric fans. The biggest tube headers that would fit feed into a 3-inch  H-pipe dual exhaust that dumps out of the sides. The boosted muscle gets to the rear wheels through a heavy-duty B&M shifted C-4 three-speed automatic transmission that feeds the Ford 9-inch rear.    The 9-inch rear end  hangs on a set of ladder bars with adjustable coil overs, and meaty Hoosier tires make sure the power meets the

1968 LO23 Hemi Dart

                                                      As far as the records show,Dodge only built  150 examples of the L023 Monsters !   Previously owned by Lou Mancini of Mancini Racing, and an Original Grand Spaulding car autographed by Mr. Norm. Possibly one of the most original LO23 Hemi Darts in existence with only 3,799 miles on the clock. Built at the Hamtramck, Michigan plant then sent to Hurst Performance for the final conversion with the under rated 426/425 HP race Hemi engine. Shipped from Chrysler’s Marine and Industrial Division,the unique 426 HEMI engines had been built offline by hand-picked technicians. The HEMI blocks were iron with a 4.250-inch bore and a 3.750-inch stroke,12.5:1 compression and aluminum heads. It features a magnesium Cross- Ram intake manifold with two big Holley Carb's,a solid lifter camshaft and an early transistorized ignition system.   The Hemi exhales through big tube Hooker headers connected to 3 -inch pipes that end at a pair of muffle
