1970 Corvette Street Machine

Image
Street Freak Special ! This 1970 Corvette has such an outrageous custom paint job that it will blind you. The car is a time capsule bringing you back to 1975 when disco was popular, it also was a time when horsepower wasn't enough to win at shows so the people mixed street machine power with lowrider good looks. The Vette features a full custom interior, supercharged small block engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. The interior is filled with a roll bar, metallic vinyl interior accents and wood trim, finishing off the 70's vibe it rolls on classic wire wheels.     The engine is a small-block Chevy 400, with a Dyers 6V-71supercharger. It has a pump gas friendly 8.5:1 CR., The supercharger is feed by two boost-referenced Holley 650 CFM  carbs. Ignition is handled by a MSD products.  The small-block is backed up by a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. The fumes exit in style with chrome 4-into one side pipes that make this 71' Corvette rumble. Power

Chris Bower's 1975 Plymouth Duster

Chris Bower is from Cleveland, Ohio with his 1975 Plymouth Duster

Chris said he has a car that most car enthusiasts would love to have, his 1975 Plymouth  Gold Duster , it  was his first car, he bought it back in 1988 when he was16 years old.

Chris stated he grew up in family of  Mechanics and Drag Racers, so you can say it was in his DNA from the beginning.

He bought it for $300 , money earned from being a dish washer at a local college, Chris drove it to high school for 2 years then in 1991 he painted to Lime Green.

Chris ran ET Bracket Pro and Sportsman classes in and around Ohio, his local track is Pacemakers in Mt Vernon Ohio a little 1/8th mile track.

In 2003 Chris decided to have it painted Burnt Orange and put it back on the street to enjoy both on the street and track, he said that he  recently got into the Hard Tire heads up racing , and likes the format much better than ET. The car has an all steel body right down to the large heavy bumpers, and original full interior .

A 368 small block makes plenty of power with a 904 automatic transmission and an 8 ¾ rear rend running 4.56 gears gets the power down . A big Monster Tach tells the tale that there is some big power under that hood . Chris stated it does well for what it is, the main thing is that after 30 years I still have a blast driving it, at this point the car is part of the family and always will be. Paint and Body is by Ralph Bower, and all mechanical work is by Chris . In this trim the car runs 8.40s in the 1/8 and mid 13's in the 1/4, not bad for a small block.

Thanks Chris for sharing you car with us !
