1970 Corvette Street Machine

                 Street Freak Special ! This 1970 Corvette has such an outrageous custom paint job that it will blind you. The car is a time capsule bringing you back to 1975 when disco was popular, it also was a time when horsepower wasn't enough to win at shows so the people mixed street machine power with lowrider good looks. The Vette features a full custom interior, supercharged small block engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. The interior is filled with a roll bar, metallic vinyl interior accents and wood trim, finishing off the 70's vibe it rolls on classic wire wheels.     The engine is a small-block Chevy 400, with a Dyers 6V-71supercharger. It has a pump gas friendly 8.5:1 CR., The supercharger is feed by two boost-referenced Holley 650 CFM  carbs. Ignition is handled by a MSD products.  The small-block is backed up by a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. 1974 Plymouth Cuda' Street Machine

  Be the star at any car show with this eye catching 1974 Plymouth Cuda'.   On the Dyno the big 426 HEMI engine made at over 700HP and 670ft/lb torque at the crank. You can leave your competition in the dust with this combination.  The engine was built with the best parts money could buy, featuring Manley stainless steel  intake & exhaust valves, a big roller cam hits the valves, while  Comp valve springs with chrome molly valve springs and titanium retainers keep it all together. It's sealed up with Fel-Pro gaskets. The ignition is controlled by a MSD 6BTM box & Pro billet distributor with a blaster 3 coil making the spark. 1971 S&M- Barracuda

  Rare Rides Quick Look !   This month's quick look is a 1 of 1 1971 HEMI Plymouth Barracuda convertible that was prepped by the legendary race shop of Ronnie Sox & Buddy Martin.  This a true Sox and Martin built Cuda'. The car was purchased new in Detroit and driven to Sox and Martin for preparation to run the NHRA Super Stock Class.    The Cud'a competed in 1973-1974 NHRA events, and was driven by "Mr. 4 -Speed" himself, Herb McCandless.  It's powered by a balanced and blueprinted 426 C.I. Hemi. Built by Sox and Martin, shifted by an A-833 4-speed the Hemi's torque is sent to a Dana-60 rear end filled with 4.56:1 gears and a spool. There is full documentation on the car and it was the only known convertible built by S&M. As it sits there is 33,307 miles on the clock and you will never find another example like this on the planet .

1968 LO23 Hemi Dart

                                                      As far as the records show,Dodge only built  150 examples of the L023 Monsters !   Previously owned by Lou Mancini of Mancini Racing, and an Original Grand Spaulding car autographed by Mr. Norm. Possibly one of the most original LO23 Hemi Darts in existence with only 3,799 miles on the clock. Built at the Hamtramck, Michigan plant then sent to Hurst Performance for the final conversion with the under rated 426/425 HP race Hemi engine. Shipped from Chrysler’s Marine and Industrial Division,the unique 426 HEMI engines had been built offline by hand-picked technicians. The HEMI blocks were iron with a 4.250-inch bore and a 3.750-inch stroke,12.5:1 compression and aluminum heads. 1962 Plymouth Savoy *Max Wedge *

                              Street Machine Spotlight   Even though this 1962 Plymouth Savoy Max Wedge is a clone it holds true to the originals.    With an original 56,000 miles, It was built with no frills at all.  The interior features an excellent original cloth & vinyl interior, a Hurst shifted 4-speed & rubber floor mats - no carpets and no radio or heater.    Under the hood it's very clean and highly detailed.. The engine was built by Krammer & Krammer Ent. ,a 440 big- block with dual quad Holley carbs mounted on a reproduction cross-ram intake manifold. On the Dyno it made 517 H.P. The rotating assembly was balanced & blue printed with Forged pistons & Crankshaft.. Hardened valve seats were also installed in the 906 heads to run on today's unleaded fuels .   Here is a view of the spartan interior, no frills here . Just a bench seat and a 4-speed shifter. Lee Smith's "Haulin-Hemi" A/FX Belvedere

  Durring a ban from NASCAR during the 1965 season.  The  Plymouth AFX program was created to maximize the potential of the 426 Hemi engine in straight line acceleration competitions. The AFX class was  Factory Experimental , the A was the largest engine displacement class.  The Plymouth engineers found that if they could alter the weight distribution to create more traction for the powerful 426 Hemi engine, it would result in quicker elapsed times.  By the rules, there was no rule as to where the wheelbase needed to be located.  So the Plymouth and Dodge engineers moved or altered the wheelbase forward under the body for two reasons 1. to move the weight of the Hemi engine closer to the rear axle and 2 to put more weight over the rear tires. Smith was an Illinois racer who had a sponsor association with Learner’s Sales & Service, one of the largest Imperial sellers in America. 1967 Barracuda Pro-Street

  This 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Pro-Street custom is just amazing.  The build took over 4 years to complete with body and paint by Marx Hot-rod's.    The engine room features a Chrysler Mega Block stretched to 540 C.I. topped with  Indy Aluminum heads fed by an F2- Procharger. This combo makes over 1000  horsepower with the current drive pulley .                                               Spark is controlled by an MSD 6 BTM box and Pro-Billet distributor.   The cooling system features an Indy reverse flow water pump system that feeds into a huge four-core radiator equipped with dual Spal fans.    Ceramic headers and 3inch tubes expel the fumes. Backing up  that horsepower is a 727torque-flite trans.with a 3500rpm stall converter .  A Ford 9 inch rear end is stuffed with 4:10 gears,strange spool , & 35 spline axles. Doug Markel's 1973 Duster *Orange Sunshine*

Orange Sunshine    is a 1973 Plymouth Duster owned and built by Doug Markel , from Gibsonburg, Ohio. Doug said he has owned the car for the last 9 years. He purchased the Duster from his good friend  from Hamilton Ohio who also races. When he found out he was looking for a car he contacted Doug and said he didn't need two race cars so he bought the Duster as a rolling chassis .  Doug added the power plant, transmission, gears and  electronics along with some neglected TLC. He said it's been a lot of fun, racing and making  many friends along the way, at the race track. Some of specifications include a Ladder Bar rear suspension with a 9" rear and 4:30 gears.  Big 14x32- r15 Goodyear Slicks handle all the power that big Mopar engine throws down. 1965 A/FX DODGE CORONET

  This  Dodge Coronet spent most of its life as a slant-6 Deluxe sedan. That is, until vintage Funny Car enthusiast Richard LeFebvre located it in early 2004 and kicked off an intense build , which  included an altered wheelbase, and shaving a pair of the car's doors , making it a coupe . The new 2-door profile now has fiberglass fenders and  bumpers that were ordered directly from  Fiberglass Plus, Inc. And now features a 1960s paint scheme, which is why 1965 Dodge Gold worked so well under the vintage hand-painted graphics.  For the last 12 years, Richard has been driving this Coronet as a  faithful tribute to race cars of a by-gone era. . At the front of the car, a black-trimmed grille hangs a Moon Equipment fuel tank between clear parking lamps, a painted bumper and halogen headlights.
