1968 Bill Thomas Camaro

Image
This Sea-frost Green 1968 Camaro was ordered as a true Super Sport with a big block 396, then it was sent to Bill Thomas of Bill Thomas Race Cars in Anaheim, CA. There Mr.Thomas worked his magic on the 396.                   This car also has the Rally Sport hidden headlight package along with front spoiler, and the bolt on fiberglass Stinger Hood.     It features the Matching Numbers 396 block which is a rarity for a Bill Thomas car, because most of his builds had the 427 transplant. However, the original owner wanted to stay with the 396 and Mr.Thomas transformed Chevrolet's 396 into a sleeper big block that could terrorize any 427 on the street in 1968.   The 396 is set up with an Offenhauser Intake manifold with dual Carter AFB Carbs. A Comp Cams solid-lifter camshaft with the original Bill Thomas spec’s was installed during the rebuild .  The engine is mated to a column shifted Turbo 400 Transmission that feeds a heavy-duty 12 Bolt posi-traction rear end with

Mustang Mach 1 Pro/Street

Image
This wild 1973 Mustang Mach 1 was given the full Pro-Street treatment back in the early 1990's, and was built by the Rod Shop in Erie, P.A. The current owner is from Nanuet,New York and owns some other significant Pro-Street cars as well. The hood now opens in reverse like a Corvette .  And poking through the hood is a custom made air box fed by two ram tubes fitted with high-flow air filters. The owner stated that he is going to give the hood the factory black out treatment to match the other Mach 1 graphics. Under the hood we find the huge by large big-block Ford that has been stroked to almost 600 cubic inches . The transmission is a H.D. Ford C6 automatic with a high stall converter. You can see the detail work that went into this build , the fire wall has been smoothed and set back and the engine has been set back at least four inches as well .  The cowl has been removed and a custom windshield was flush fitted to the opening.  A single wiper was added to keep it street lega

1967 Camaro Pro-Street

Image
This 1967 Camaro is nicknamed "Sinister", because it has a bad attitude according to the owner. It's powered by a Dart Big M block stroked to 565 CI . A Holley 1050 CFM Dominator feeds this beastly big block, which sits on-top of a  Dart single plane intake manifold.  A Barry Grant BG- 400 fuel pump supplies Sunoco 110 octane race fuel from the rear mounted 10 gallon cell .  A huge four-core Griffin radiator with three electric fans cools that large big block , for fast cool downs between runs.       The Camaro  has a full ATI drive line , including a TH- 400 transmission with a  4000 RPM stall converter with a trans- brake.  Shifting is courtesy of a B&M Pro- ratchet shifter.  There are massive Wilwood disk brakes on the front & rear and  if that is not enough stopping power , the Camaro is equipped with a Simpson parachute .   It rolls on a set of  Weld  15x5 aluminum wheels with 26X6 Mickey Thompson SPORTSMAN S/R TIRES on the front , while t

          This 65' Econoline must sound amazing! Roger Tausch’s, 1972 Pro-Street *Maverick *

Image
I came across this, radical for its time 1972 Ford Maverick, and I wanted to share it with my readers.     When Roger Tausch's blown 1972 Ford Maverick rumbled through the Indiana State Fairgrounds over 35 years ago during the Street Machine Nationals, it caused tons of excitement among fellow Street Machine enthusiasts !   You see most blower cars at the time were Chevy's and very few were Ford's or even Ford powered. Roger's car appeared in the Nov. 1980 issue of Car Craft , It was a fantastic debut for Roger and his  Supercharged 302 powered Maverick. It would go on to grace the pages of several other magazines in the following few years.  It is virtually unchanged from its appearance when it was last seen over 35 years ago, apart from a narrowed rear end and the change from carbs to fuel injection. This mighty Maverick  followed the wildly popular Pro-Street trend that t
