Scott Robinson is from southern California and has been into cars his whole life, his earliest memories recount his time spent with his father and his friends. Scott's father raced all types of vehicles, drag boats, sand rails, and cars. These experiences made a major impression on Scott and he couldn't wait to be old enough to drive. When he was old enough, he got heavy into off-road motorcycles then when he got his driver's license all bets were off.  Scott forgot about racing motorcycles and went all in and started racing cars. The first car he raced wasn't car at all, it was a 1975 Chevy van. But this wasn't  any old worn out work van. This van belonged to Scott's father, it featured  a destroked 400 cube small-block built by Scott's Dad, it's backed up with a TH-400 automatic transmission and a narrowed 12-bolt rear end. Scott said it was fun ride for his first car, and when he graduated high-school his father gave it to him.   The father and son

1977 Chevrolet Nova - *Street Race Special *

This 1977 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport is a Street Racer Special. It features a big block 427CI V8 with large amounts of compression.

Fuel is mixed by a Holley 750 CFM. double pumper mounted on a vintage Weiand Team-G single plane intake manifold.

It's running a full roller valve-train by Comp Cams with over .500 lift.

Spark is handled by a full MSD ignition system, 6AL Box,Pro-Billet distributor and 8MM wire set.

Connected to that 427 is a heavy-duty Turbo 400 three speed automatic. Hard launches are courtesy of a 4000 RPM torque converter & trans brake, that's controlled by a Cheetah shifter.

The chassis was back halved with ladder-bars which hangs a 12 bolt rear end filled with 4.56:1 gears and a spool. A set of three way adjustable coil over shocks keep the rear tires planted. The front features old school 90/10 drag shocks and six cylinder coil springs. For rolling stock ,huge Cragar wheels- 15x14 in the rear and 15x5's up front. Traction is not an issue.

The rest of the noticeable racing bits include a 14 point roll cage, Sport Comp seats & SFI racing harnesses.  There is a five inch Monster Tach. mounted to the dash with a shift light and an auxiliary gauge panel mounted below the dash , giving a nod to its past street racing glory.

While a true SS, this Nova has no power steering, power brakes, A/C, and no radio, it does have 4 wheel disk- brakes when things get out of hand on the street.

The Nova's interior looks stock, with front and rear carpets and full factory style door panels. The rear seat was removed but the complete rear area has been finished and carpeted.

The Nova features full length Hooker Competition headers that are connected to a full three-inch exhaust system that dumps at the rear bumper.
