Scott Robinson's "Bionic Wasp" 68' Camaro

Scott Robinson is from southern California and has been into cars his whole life, his earliest memories recount his time spent with his father and his friends. Scott's father raced all types of vehicles, drag boats, sand rails, and cars. These experiences made a major impression on Scott and he couldn't wait to be old enough to drive. When he was old enough, he got heavy into off-road motorcycles then when he got his driver's license all bets were off.  Scott forgot about racing motorcycles and went all in and started racing cars. The first car he raced wasn't car at all, it was a 1975 Chevy van. But this wasn't  any old worn out work van. This van belonged to Scott's father, it featured  a destroked 400 cube small-block built by Scott's Dad, it's backed up with a TH-400 automatic transmission and a narrowed 12-bolt rear end. Scott said it was fun ride for his first car, and when he graduated high-school his father gave it to him.   The father and son

1957 Chevrolet 210 Gasser

This bright yellow Chevy 210 has only gone about 800 miles since its restoration. The ionic elements like the grille and bumpers have a unique appearance with an airbrushed look.  But as a true Gasser, you also need the right elements . That means a fiberglass one-piece front end to reduce weight and the high solid front axle big engine and street slicks complete the look.

This was built to be a full competition machine for the street  or strip so a full  8-point roll cage was installed along with Corbeau racing seats, and Corbeau racing harnesses .

Other features include  power windows and custom fabricated cup holders. There's a touch of vintage feel with the Bel Air-style steering wheel, but it's now a smaller diameter unit on a tilt column.

The dashboard is filled with one of the most comprehensive set of Autometer Sport-Comp gauges.

The tach. w/shift light is mounted near the roof right next to the overhead switch panel.

What Gasser wouldn't be complete without a one piece fiberglass tilt nose,it features a realistic air brushed chrome bumper and grill, the head lights are functional.

Under that tilt front end is a period correct looking small block, now displacing 383C.I.

The engine is filled with a roller cam & rockers , Weiand supplied the tunnel ram , on top sits two Holley 660 CFM center squirters. The crown on top is a pair of vintage 5 inch velocity stacks.

Upgrades for street use include power 4-wheel disk brakes , a huge 3- row radiator.  And of course big fender well headers dumping into a glass pack muffler system .

The front suspension is of course a solid I-beam front axle supported by leaf springs .

The rear end is 9-inch Ford with 4:11 gears. It's controlled by ladder bars and coil over shocks .

This 57' has the stance and attitude that commands attention when you see it coming  in your rear view mirror . In this view you can see more of the custom air brush work on the fiberglass bumper as seen in the front , the tail lights were upgraded to Led units.  And the Chevy rides on Team III wheels and Hoosier tires.
